Social attitudes to smoking? birth control? Reaction to historic events? Clothing styles? Anything you want to know about British life and opinion during key decades of the 20th century is presented in this collection.
From 1937 to 1972 researchers in Britain studied the everyday life and opinions of people, using personal journals, observations by researchers (submitted as file reports), questionnaires, and special topic studies and photographs. From this data the researchers produced a series of books and reports. All this material is housed at the University of Sussex and much of it is now made available digitally via Mass Observation Online.
